Key Accountabilities
Responsible for all planning activities within the local OpCo covering the short term / operational horizon (0-13 weeks) which includes material planning, production planning, scheduling, warehousing and logistics, and distribution planning.
Drive the execution of the S&OE process (operational), organize all meetings according to the Nutreco standards.
Balance demand and supply in the most optimal way in terms of volume, revenues, costs and margin and develop scenarios for decision making.
Provide procurement, supply points and logistics departments with production plans in line with service levels, inventory, production parameters, targets and guidelines.
Responsible for ensuring the inventory levels within the OpCo are optimised considering the balance of customer service expectation and cost, working closely with other OpCo’s within the Region to optimise inventories to reduce duplication of stocks in each local facility and following up on aging stock and obsolete items.
Define and implement inventory and replenishment targets and apply inventory segmentation effectively.
Responsible for ensuring that Planning Parameters within the ERP system are regularly reviewed and maintained by the team with clear ownership and accountability within the team.
Responsible for making day-to-day decisions, where planning conflicts occur (e.g. insufficient capacity for multiple orders) and where relevant, escalating for resolution to the Regional Supply Chain Manager.
Provide KPI dashboards, insights and decision documents at request or at own initiative regarding quantitative and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines.
People
Lead and develop a team of (senior) planners and schedulers through coaching and feedback to maximize performance of themselves and the Planning team.
Appraises Planning staff and develops (the cooperation between) staff using the relevant HR instruments, service and procedures.
Ensures an effective structure and adequate staffing of the department in order to deliver results and nurture a positive and learning culture.
Manages the Planning staff on a daily basis, organizes and supervises the activities and work of the team to ensure that all work within Planning is carried out efficiently and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.
Foster the reputation of the team as the expert in supply chain optimization and capability by building strong bonds of trust and confidence with internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and optimize team processes to balance dynamic business priorities. Embed mechanisms that allow oversight of active projects, resource allocation, tracking to completion and 'telling the story'.
Data/Systems
Identify and execute, with support from relevant functions, improvements to the systems used in order to improve the efficiency of the team.
Where necessary, prepare business cases for consideration to invest in new systems or technology.

Drives the efficiency and effectiveness of all Supply Chain activities to ensure a responsive, robust response to customer demand.
Initiates root cause analysis and (sustainable) problem solving.
Manages various identified improvement projects.
Quality / HSE Compliance
Assures that all activities and operations are executed in line with HSE / Quality rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promotes awareness thereof, including addressing anomalies to others.
