We have an opening in the IT Department for a Business IT Specialist. This is a key position responsible for IT Operations for the Companion Animal business unit supporting 5 facilities in 2 geographic locations. Working with multi-cultural / multi-national professional teams will provide opportunities to learn and grow. This person will collaborate with the Companion Animal business and Global Nutreco IT teams in the context of IT policy and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical approach and excellent communication skills. He/she must be a self-starter with good conceptual thinking and a hands-on mentality with a drive for results. Preference will be given to candidates experienced with a broad background in IT operations within manufacturing environments and Microsoft 365 centric organizations.
Site IT Accountabilities:
- Assist the remote Global IT teams with activities such as:
- Local server room support and maintenance of virtualized server environment (VMWare)
- Coordinate purchasing/receiving of new computer hardware and software (Dell)
- Local asset management of all IT hardware
- Local IP-based/Cell phone support (Verizon)
- Local MFP/Printer troubleshooting (Ricoh)
- Provide local assistance with programming and troubleshooting of network switches and routers (Cisco)
- Aid in remote user IT issue resolution
- Document and resolve IT problems using Service Now
- Assist the Global IT team in remote software deployment to the Companion Animal infrastructure
- Assist in making recommendations for continuous improvement of IT
- Ensure the local data backups are monitored and maintained by Global IT teams
- Manage ITIL procedures and local KPI’s
- Deploy Risk Management strategies at the local level in conjunction with the Nutreco Global IT policies
Application Accountabilities:
- Ability to execute application maintenance for the local business applications in an office and manufacturing environment
Program & project Management:
- Manage local IT-related projects according to Nutreco standards and processes
Environment / IT Systems:
- Act as liaison with service providers, vendors and other teams for project coordination, team communication, and issue resolution.
- Work with Global and Local technology teams and business units as an in-house consultant and be prepared to lead or participate in broader initiatives spanning all areas of IT
- Develop documentation covering best practices and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferable in Engineering /Technology or similar IT focused disciplines.
- Cisco and Microsoft certifications are highly regarded.
- 5+ years working experience in an (international) organization troubleshooting complex and high available systems/ IT support operations and network administration.
- Ability to work independently in an organized manner with a sensitivity to deadlines and budget restraints and able to recognize situations that warrant attention and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies after hours as needed.
- Ability to travel overnight as required. Multiple sites will be supported by this position.
- Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills and have a keen attention to details with the ability to follow process and change management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
- Ability to prepare simple schematics and LAN / WAN wiring diagrams.
- Experience in development/selection process of (commercial) business applications and its implementations will be a plus.
- Knowledge of IT project management principles.
