KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understand the North American dairy sector and value chain, and built relationships with key stakeholders
• Develop and steer the ruminant strategy aligning with Trouw Nutrition global and North American business strategies
- Detail and implement the strategic roadmap to grow the HVAP (High Value-Added Products) business in collaboration with the Feed Additives Manager
- Provide TN NA leadership in the design of models, tools and services on the value-added platform (NutriOpt) in the areas of nutrition, farm management and health in close collaboration with Digital Solutions manager and Director of Technology Application.
- Support product positioning and messaging within a global product framework
- Develop sales tools for the innovation pipeline and value proposition
- Ensure intelligence of customer needs, market conditions, industry trends and competitor data
• Build/maintain a network within the North American academic community
• Align with regional commercial and technical leaders to build and execute technology application plans
• Provide second line technical support to our National dealer network as part of the Newton program
• Manage the ruminant portfolio of projects, products and tools
- Participate in the TNCA Dairy Technical Committee and Dairy Council
• Understand and explain technical information – scientific research, data, trial reports, statistics
• Provide support to the Stage Gate innovation process
• Manage the ruminant project portfolio
• Chair the Trouw Nutrition North America Ruminant Council
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
• An MSc or PhD degree or equivalent in the area of dairy, animal or related life sciences
• Excellent understanding of practical dairy nutrition, production, and the overall value chain
• Experience with the interpretation of research data and reports
• Superior planning and Project Management skills
• Strong commercial and communication acumen
• Knowledge of procurement, feed formulation and feed manufacturing
• Ability to function as a team player or leader with minimal supervision and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, time management and organizational skills
• Advanced presentation skills
• Ability to speak French is an asset, but not mandatory
• Ability to travel as required
• Position qualifies for hybrid work environment
