Trouw Nutrition USA-Companion Animal business unit is focused on advancing nourishment of the world’s pets by providing premium pet food companies with the highest-quality custom ingredient blends supported by exceptional customer care and nutrition expertise. We are seeking a Commercial Data Analyst in Highland, IL

As a Commercial Data Analyst, you will play a key role in collecting market, industry, customer, competitor and product data and in using analytical tools and skills to transform the data into knowledge and insights for the business.  This person will provide key support to the business to enable more data-driven decision making.  Our ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator and has previous experience working with market, financial, scientific, or other related data in support of business needs.

About The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Gain awareness of and ability to access all available internal and external data sources that have utility in supporting the TN CA business

  • Gain understanding of the key business goals for TN CA, and determine what data and analysis can be used to support these

  • Build and maintain key data sets that would be used routinely in ongoing analysis, including but not limited to internal data, industry, customer, and competitor data.

  • Use data analysis to create key insights and make recommendations for business decisions

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or related discipline

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working with market, financial, scientific, or other business-related data in support of business needs

  • Very comfortable managing and manipulating large data sets in ERP systems, Excel, Power BI or similar software

  • Experience with or willingness to learn analysis software such as JMP or SAS, along with reporting / visualization software (Power BI)

  • Ability to use effective interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally without authority while influencing meaningful outcomes for the business

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize work, and communicate issues as needed

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as needed to support business priorities
