Regulatory & Quality Specialist
Job Description
Advice and Execution
- Regulatory Advice: Advises and partners with the business on regulatory matters, including product registration requirements. Executes regulatory activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and supports product and service development.
- Risk Mitigation: Support handling of disputes, incidents, claims, and litigation, engaging with external advisors as needed to mitigate risks.
- Product Registration: Contributes to sharing information on product registration requirements, advises the business on regulatory aspects of marketing, and ensures the correct implementation of registration strategies for selected products.
Regulatory (including Registration) and License Management (70%)
- Product Registration: Manages the registration of products with relevant regulatory authorities in various countries, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Supports maintenance of local authority permits and develops product registration dossiers by gathering required information and ensuring its correctness.
- License Management: Ensures all company and product licenses are up to date, preventing any expired licenses that could disrupt operations. Regularly reviews and renews necessary licenses for product and company compliance.
- Compliance Monitoring: Actively monitors changes in national and international regulations that affect the company’s products and operations. Analyzing the impact of regulatory updates to ensure understanding of requirements. Ensuring impact assessment is conducted, relevant departments are informed, and necessary actions are taken to maintain compliance.
- Inspections: Prepares for and supports inspections by regulatory bodies, ensuring adherence to regulations and managing follow-up actions for any non-conformities.
- Documentation: Drafts and manages regulatory, documents, including registration dossiers, ensuring accurate and timely filing.
Quality Management (30%)
- Quality Assurance: Oversees product storage conditions in compliance with specified standards. Conducts regular quality checks and ensures product integrity is maintained.
- Incident and Crisis Management: Actively involved in managing quality-related incidents, ensuring compliance with company policies and external regulations.
- Customer Complaint Management: Investigates complaints related to product quality and collaborates with internal teams to resolve issues.
Warehouse Quality Management
- Quality Assurance: Oversees product storage conditions, ensuring compliance with specified requirements such as temperature and humidity. Conducts quality checks and implements corrective actions to safeguard product integrity.
- Incident Management: Takes administrative responsibility during incidents and crises, ensuring prompt and efficient responses in line with legal and regulatory standards.
Quality Management and Performance
- Quality Systems: Ensures an up-to-date quality management system (procedures and instructions) in line with relevant legislation, Nutrace standards, and customer requirements.
- Assessments and Audits: Performs ingredient and supplier assessments, conducts internal and external audits, and ensures corrective actions for any identified non-conformities.
Stakeholder Management
- Stakeholder Engagement: Networks with relevant regulatory authorities and associations to advocate for Nutreco’s interests regarding product authorization and marketing.
Knowledge Management
- Training: Coaches junior colleagues, providing professional development and ensuring awareness of quality and regulatory developments across the organization.
- Internal Sharing: Contributes to the structured sharing of regulatory across teams, ensuring up-to-date information is available to support business and innovation processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical, or a related field.
- Regulatory & Quality& Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of food and feed safety regulations and quality management systems. Knowledge local and international regulations and standard for product registration, including compliance with legal requirements. Knowledge of product’s technical and scientific aspects.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail, ability to analyze data, project management skills, problem solving, and strong communication skills.
- Experience: Proven experience in regulatory, and quality assurance roles, particularly with product registrations and intellectual property.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and key IT solutions for managing quality and regulatory processes.
- Languages: Fluent proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
