Nutrition Officer

Job Description

The Nutrition Officer reports to the Formulation Supervisor directly and functionally to the Product Officer for the product administration responsibilities of the role. The Nutrition Officer provides capability for all formulation tasks and is the official backup for the Formulation Supervisor

The Nutrition Officer is responsible for daily formulation tasks, liaising with the formulator and various other departments when short-term changes are required to ensure the continuity of the manufacturing process. This role arranges various inputs, such as logistical constraints, production requirements, physical quality, raw material quality, raw material prices and nutritional requirements into an efficient feed output for the production process.

At an advanced level, the Nutrition Officer understands nutritional concepts and uses this knowledge to compile products that maximize animal health and performance, and assures timely reformulation to meet nutrient and ingredient specifications with raw materials available at the manufacturing location. They provide formulation services for product customization and support technical services and marketing in product development.

This position supports design and development (D&D) projects. The Nutrition Officer assists the Formulator and procurement with cost benefit analysis of raw material opportunities from the Raw Material Innovation strategy.
