We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) for our Selko brand in Indianapolis, IN.
The Maintenance Technician carries out maintenance and repair work to electrical or/and mechanical installations or equipment (such as production machinery, rotating equipment, electrical installations, transport systems, buildings, facilities and constructions), so that technical assignments are carried out on time, safely and according to specifications in order to support the optimal running of production.
The main purpose of this role is to prevent any malfunction of the equipment, apparatus, machinery or systems that are used in the production process.
Job Description
About The Role:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, air diaphragm and electric pumps and production machines.
Follows diagrams, P&ID’s, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Skills and Expertise
Qualifications:
Experience with Industrial maintenance required. Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus
Thorough working knowledge of pumps, electric and pneumatic, valves, piping, hydraulics.
Welding, fabricating and knowledge of machining using manual machines such as a vertical mill, lathe, surface grinder a plus.
Familiar with OSHA 1910 standards in manufacturing such as Hot Work, LOTO, PIT, Confined Space.
Self-motivated, responsible and Safety Oriented individual.
Must be willing to work overtime or off shifts when required
