Job Description

Join Our Team as a Formulator – Animal Nutrition!

Are you passionate about animal welfare and nutrition? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can make a real difference? We are seeking a dynamic Formulator to join our Atlantics (GB & Ireland) team in the animal nutrition industry.

About Us:

At Trouw Nutrition, we believe in nourishing the future—one animal at a time. Our mission is to provide top-quality nutrition solutions that empower farmers and pet owners to optimize the health and performance of their animals.

What You’ll Do:

As a Formulator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient production of multi-species mineral, premix, and complementary premix and mineral for the poultry and swine industries. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our product offerings, whilst ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Formulation & Accuracy: Develop and produce premix and mineral that meet the needs of our customers, ensuring precision in the composition and the highest quality standards.

  • Legislation & Labelling: Manage all aspects of feed legislation, product labelling, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

  • Raw Material Specifications: Interpret raw material specifications to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in formulation.

  • Live Product Management: Oversee the management and accuracy of live products, ensuring continuous alignment with customer specifications.

  • New Product Development: Work collaboratively on new product innovations to meet evolving customer needs.

  • Team Collaboration: Engage with internal teams across Ireland and Great Britain, including animal nutritionists, to ensure smooth communication and teamwork in meeting customer demands.

  • Deadline Management: Work within set timelines and manage multiple requests efficiently, with high attention to detail and organisational skills.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. You will need to bring strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to your work. You are also:

  • A Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal teams and departments and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.

  • Organised & Efficient: Capable of managing multiple tasks and responsibilities, working within deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.

  • A Problem Solver: You bring a proactive approach to managing formulations, raw material specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Industry-Aware: An understanding of basic animal nutrition, particularly in poultry and swine, is highly desirable, with experience in an agricultural setting considered an advantage.

  • Adaptable: Eager to learn and develop within the evolving formulations department and broader business.

Ideally, you will also have:

A degree in agriculture, animal science, animal nutrition, or a related field, with 0-2 years of relevant experience in a deadline-driven environment such as feed formulation or agriculture. A basic understanding of animal nutrition (particularly poultry and swine) is beneficial. You’ll need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to problem-solving. Willingness to travel monthly between Ashbourne (GB) and Belfast for team collaboration is essential.
