HSE Manager Global Supply Points

Job Description

Why join us
Own your career at Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company. Our purpose of Feeding the Future unites us into one team, all working together to achieve a meaningful, global impact for generations to come. Empowering and investing in our people and our planet is at the heart of everything we do. Which is why, when you join us as a HSE Manager, you will be nurtured and equipped to build a rewarding career full of potential.

What you’ll do

As HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in embedding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) as a core value within Trouw Nutrition. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and functionally to the Global HSE Director. You will act as a HSE program manager, translating Nutreco’s global HSE strategy into tailored local implementation across five key production sites: Butzow, Sloten, Tilburg, Deventer, and Indianapolis.

  • You will lead a team of eight functional HSE reports and serve as the linking pin between HSE, the plants, and the head office, operating confidently within a matrix organization.

  • Your focus will be on building trust, elevating local HSE approaches, and ensuring that every site is aligned with and actively driving Nutreco’s HSE strategy.

  • In the first six months, you will build strong trust and collaboration with the HSE team and OPCO representatives by role modelling safety behaviours, creating open communication channels, and embedding a culture of safety, diversity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization. You will be visible across all sites and inspire teams to take ownership of HSE values.

  • By the end of the first year, you will have aligned and fully executed the regional HSE strategy in line with global standards.
This includes developing and delivering comprehensive HSE plans, budgets, and objectives, and ensuring the Nutreco HSE management system is consistently deployed and embedded across all five locations.
Every site is at a different maturity level, and success means tailoring your approach to elevate each plant’s local HSE practices.

  • You will continuously lead risk management and compliance efforts by conducting regular safety inspections, maintaining accurate and up-to-date operational risk registers, overseeing thorough incident investigations, and ensuring all activities meet or exceed legal and company HSE requirements.

  • You will travel once every 2–3 months to Indianapolis (US), once per quarter to Butzow (Germany), and regularly to one of our three Dutch locations.

This senior-level role comes with responsibilities such as crisis leadership, audits, legal surveillance, CAPEX support, and full HSE system deployment.
You will also drive leadership, cultural change, and multi-site governance expectations to embed safety as a core value across the organization.

  • Strong leadership and a passion for Safety

  • Analytical and project management skills, ability to think critically
