As Quality Manager Global Supply Points (GSP) you contribute to our purpose of Feeding the Future through up-to-date quality management system and mindset that supports continuous improvement of the quality of the processes and products conform the needs of all our customers, authorities, and certification bodies.

Nutreco Global Supply Points consists of

  • EU NL - Supply Point Sloten - 2 production locations located in Sloten (Friesland) and Deventer.
    Products produced are mainly calf milk replacers via spray drying (Sloten) of dairy ingredients and mixing of feed materials and feed additives (Deventer). These products are exported globally (intercompany).

  • EU D – Supply Point Buzlow – spray drying facility like Sloten, primarily for Deventer.

  • EU NL - Supply Point Tilburg. This manufacturing site produces specialty feed additives that are (intercompany) sold to more than 80 countries.

  • US - Supply Point Indianapolis which is the manufacturing site of Nutreco’s unique IntelliBond hydroxy trace minerals.

The Quality Manager Global Supply Points is responsible for effective quality management and organization of the locations Sloten, Deventer, Buzlow, Tilburg and Indianapolis. He/she leads a team consisting of 4 quality managers (Tilburg, Buzlow, Deventer and Indianapolis) and 2 product registration officers (total team is 24 FTE). The position reports to the Global Supply Chain Director with functional reporting line to the Global Quality Director Nutreco.

Our candidate has knowledge in quality/ feed safety of dairy related products and feed additives and good understanding of supply chain dynamics in complex organizations. He/she has a passion for quality and has a proven record in how to drive change and quality excellence through people and processes.

About The Role

Strategy

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of GSP Quality strategy based on the Nutreco Quality strategy.

  • Development and execution of yearly GSP quality plan using strategy, business priorities and global quality plan as input.

Nutrace (Nutreco Quality Management System)

  • Contribute to the development of global Nutrace standards that describe the minimum requirements in feed safety & quality in Nutreco.

  • Deployment of the global Nutrace standards in GSP.

  • Support to the Quality managers of the manufacturing locations in implementation of Nutrace e.g. through training and case-to-case support.

  • Ensures key users for the IT systems that are used to manage quality processes for GSP and provide support upon issues and in onboarding.

  • Ensures support to the Global Quality team in user acceptance testing upon changes in quality processes for Nutreco in IT systems.

  • Contribute to Nutreco quality awareness projects and deploy in GSP

  • Contribute to development of training materials in Feed Safety & Quality (FSQ) and further deploy in own GSP.

Organisation

  • Manager of GSP Quality, responsible for performance management, succession planning and effective team.

  • Attract, manage, coach, appraise and develop GSP Quality community to ensure the right capabilities to execute the plans.

  • Develop internal networks and subject matter experts to accelerate best practice sharing and standardization.

  • Member of Nutreco Quality Leadership Team and bring and take best practices and working effective and efficient in FSQ themes at Nutreco level.

  • Member of GSP leadership team and create a quality mindset through the GSP organisation in which processes and responsibilities are clear and adhered to.
     

Feed regulation and registration

  • Work with Corporate Regulatory Affairs to maintain a knowledge base on feed regulation in GSP.

  • Support Product Managers in development and maintenance of product dossiers needed for registration.

Quality Performance

  • Provide expert advice and support in GSP to close gaps with Nutrace, certification schemes, customer requirements and feed regulation.

  • Participate in GSP projects - warrant feed safety & quality while ensuring business profitability eg in outsourcing projects, footprint projects and operational excellence.

  • Carry out audits and take approval decision of new (strategic and/or high risk) suppliers, of acquisitions, and of toll millers.

  • Develop and support GSP in implementing crisis management protocols to effectively handle quality-related incidents or issues.

  • Provide expert support in case of serious incident or crisis.

  • Support problem-solving processes to address and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.

  • Analyze Quality (Control) data to identify trends and risks and develop and implement, corrective and preventive actions as necessary.

Customer satisfaction

  • Collaborate with customers and (among other marketing & sales) stakeholders to understand their quality and safety requirements and aligning Quality management and ways of working accordingly.

  • Identify and propose improvements to Global Quality regarding Nutrace and continuously improve ways of working in Quality that will lead to higher customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for processes and supporting the business to allow registration of feed additives and calf milk replacers in other countries
     

External Collaboration

  • Engage GSP with external bodies, such as regulatory agencies, industry associations, and certification bodies, to stay updated on industry best practices and standards.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners to leverage expertise and drive industry-wide quality improvements.

Skills and Perspective:
 

• Qualifications:           

  • Preferred master’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field

  • More than 5 years of relevant experience at master level

  • Knowledge of food and feed safety regulations

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and certification schemes

  • Experience in quality assurance, food/feed safety, or a related field

  • Experience in supply chain dynamics

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to analyse data

  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • People Management, professional level
