for you as Counsel for our Indian business, part of our Asia business unit (BU)!

Nutreco,  headquartered  in  Amersfoort  with  global  operations,  is  supported  by  a  Legal  and 
E&C team of around twenty professionals. This team is responsible for managing legal and 
E&C risks and safeguarding Nutreco’s reputation. The team includes six BU Counsels who 
report to the Director Legal and M&A and the Director E&C and a number Counsels located 
in  different  jurisdictions  reporting  into  the  BU  Counsels.  This  position  will  report  to  the  BU 
Counsel Asia.
Role Overview: As Counsel for operating companies in India, you will manage the Legal 
risks and the E&C program for Skretting India, Trouw Nutrition India and Eruvaka, and in 
coordination with the BU Counsel Asia be involved in investigations concerning these 
companies. 
Location: This position is based in India, with the head office in Hyderabad. 
Key Responsibilities:
• Report directly to the BU Counsel Asia (based in Bangkok). 
• Provide legal and E&C advice and support to the Indian companies.
• Manage outside counsel when necessary.
• Support the development and implementation of Legal and E&C policies, procedures, 
and templates.
• Conduct periodic E&C and legal risk assessments.
• Provide training on various legal and E&C topics.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and Nutreco’s policies.
Participate in the management team of the General Manager of the Indian companies 
(upon request).

• A well-developed business sense.
• Experience as a counsel in an international business environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Pragmatic, independent within set boundaries, and results-oriented.
• Willingness to travel regularly in India and occasionally in Asia and internationally.
Qualifications:
• Law degree.
• India licensed lawyer or equivalent.
• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of contract, competition, and (basic) corporate law; knowledge of food law is 
an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in an international business environment.
• Experience in (re)drafting (international) agreements;
• Affinity with E&C work and willingness to develop in this role. Experience as an E&C 
Officer is an asset.
