As Quality Manager Benelux you contribute to our purpose of Feeding the Future through up-to-date quality management system that supports continuous improvement of the quality of the processes and products conform the needs of all our customers, authorities, and certification bodies. 

 

He/she is member of the ECA Quality management team and works closely with other functions to ensure that Feed to Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) are correctly addressed in all disciplines. He/she contributes to best practice sharing and supports networks and Subject Matter Expert teams (including cross BU) and he / she provides (hierarchical and functional) leadership and direction in the area of Quality Assurance and manages and develops a team of QA staff to ensure the required standards in quality assurance / quality control targets are met. 

For this role you can live in Belgium or the Netherlands; you will travel between the 2 plants in Putten and Gent.

 

About The Role 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • The Quality Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all internal Quality plans and programs necessary for the relevant markets Nutreco serves, contributing to the realization of organizations' goals and objectives. 

  • He/she will safeguard the desired internal and external quality levels of products and processes and services (meaning full regulatory compliance with Food Safety <HACCP> and Food Defense standards for manufactured products and feed ingredients) and retaining all relevant certificates required in order to meet global and local standards and schemes.  

  • The Benelux Quality Manager is an expert in Quality Management and Feed to Food Safety with good communication and training skills needed to create a quality culture on and across sites and business unit, where people of all disciplines understand their role in quality performance.  

 

Skills and Expertise  

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in food/animal science, biology, chemistry, veterinary or a related field 

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in leading the Quality assurance department within food/feed safety, chemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, or a related industries. 

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and certification schemes including HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 and GFSI standards 

  • Experience in managing a team, leading people and delegating tasks and skills 

  • English, fluent proficiency in verbal and written and Dutch highly desired 

Expectation from Role 

 

  • Lead a team of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, analytical services and Regulatory managers/specialists/officers in order to deliver results in the following areas: Strategy, Nutrace, Quality Management, Quality Performance, Quality Control and analytical services, Regulatory Affairs and Product Registrations. 

  • He/she is the primary point of contact for certification bodies and feed regulatory authorities and works with marketing and sales in customer interaction and satisfaction. 

  • The Quality Manager directs an entity’s inspection and testing programs, as well as its proactive quality assurance procedures designed to prevent defects and / or improve performance. In pursuing these objectives, he / she manages the department's employees and interacts with other managers and staff in departments that run processes where quality is an important dimension (e.g. production, procurement, supply chain, marketing, sales, etc.).
