Quality Technician

Job Description

Salary: £25,000

Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Operating hours are between 6am and 11:30pm.

Key Accountabilities

  • Factory Quality Control Checks

  • Reporting of any out of spec Raw Materials

  • Finished Product Checks/Analysis

  • Record keeping and reporting

  • Internal audits with root cause analysis and CAPA

  • Development and improvement of Quality Management System

  • Any other relevant duties deemed necessary by the Quality Manager

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • A Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject (chemistry preferred)

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent), grade C and above, (chemistry preferred)

  • Experience of Data handling and analysis  

  • Experience of working in a busy, ‘hands-on’ based environment

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Excel and Word

Essential Competencies

  • Scientific and analytical 

  • Able to work on own initiative as part of small team

  • Precision, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Logical and methodical approach to investigative problem solving and troubleshooting

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree in a scientific subject (chemistry preferred)

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Quality role

  • Experience of Laboratory Information Management systems (LIMS)

  • Experience of root cause analysis

  • Experience of record keeping and reporting

  • Experience and/or understanding of XRF/NIR analysis.

  • Knowledge of quality systems/feed industry/markets/customers

Desirable Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of animal nutrition
