Quality Technician
Job Description
Salary: £25,000
Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Operating hours are between 6am and 11:30pm.
Key Accountabilities
Factory Quality Control Checks
Reporting of any out of spec Raw Materials
Finished Product Checks/Analysis
Record keeping and reporting
Internal audits with root cause analysis and CAPA
Development and improvement of Quality Management System
Any other relevant duties deemed necessary by the Quality Manager
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
A Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject (chemistry preferred)
Minimum 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent), grade C and above, (chemistry preferred)
Experience of Data handling and analysis
Experience of working in a busy, ‘hands-on’ based environment
Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Excel and Word
Essential Competencies
Scientific and analytical
Able to work on own initiative as part of small team
Precision, accuracy and attention to detail
Logical and methodical approach to investigative problem solving and troubleshooting
Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Degree in a scientific subject (chemistry preferred)
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Quality role
Experience of Laboratory Information Management systems (LIMS)
Experience of root cause analysis
Experience of record keeping and reporting
Experience and/or understanding of XRF/NIR analysis.
Knowledge of quality systems/feed industry/markets/customers
Desirable Competencies
Basic knowledge of animal nutrition
