For our team Selko team in Tilburg, we are looking for a Laboratory Manager.

About The Role
The Laboratory Manager works within the Quality & Regulatory Affairs Team. Four Laboratory Technicians report into the Laboratory Manager.

As a Laboratory Manager you take care of the daily execution and planning of necessary analyses and projects in your team. You are responsible for the implementation of innovation projects and production processes in collaboration with other departments. The Laboratory Manager provides guidance, direction and develops a team of lab employees to ensure constant quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

 

  • Daily management of 4 Laboratory Technicians;

  • Responsible and taking care of the Quality Control of Selko products and raw materials;

  • Initiating, planning and writing of service projects;

  • Responsible for recording specifications, analysis methods and results in LIMS;

  • Responsible for the planning, correct execution of laboratory tests;

  • Responsible for the regular maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies;

  • Assessing external laboratory results;

  • Develop and introduce new analysis techniques to increase efficiency and shorten analysis lead times;

  • Reporting on performed analyses;

  • Cost allocation of laboratory supplies and internally/externally performed analyses to cost centers;

  • Key contact person for MasterLab, the central laboratory within Nutreco and other laboratories;

  • Key contact person for Global NIR and LIMS team;

  • Key contact person for laboratory suppliers

  • Ensuring current up-to-date regulations, procedures and manuals in the appropriate systems (Document Management System, SharePoint)
     

As a Laboratory Manager, you report directly into the Manager Quality & Regulatory Affairs.

Skills and Expertise
As a Laboratory Manager, you are an independent, proactive and enthusiastic business partner. You are critical, accurate and decisive. You have an analytical view. You have the ability to collaborate with all stakeholders; you are a quality-oriented person and have strong communication skills.  

Qualifications

  • HLO (bachelor) degree in Analytical Chemistry;

  • 3+ years’ experience in a quality control laboratory;

  • Management experience in a quality environment;

  • Knowledge of microbiology is a plus;

  • Proven leadership skills;

  • Experience in LIMS;

  • Experience with NIR (Near Infra Red);

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
