Senior Accountant
Job Description
- The Senior Accountant role is responsible for Reporting & Accounting (Financial Administrator, Payroll Administrator).
- They may provide business support for the preparation of financial analysis, gathering, analyzing and evaluating financial information for the assigned financial analysis on a regular basis, preparing reports, presentations, etc.
- Support on special projects or activities as required, for example contributes to the design, implementation and management of financial processes (budget, reporting, and compliance), change management, assist in the company’s monthly and yearly closing, setting up internal control systems and adopting Nutreco policies for financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Reconciling accounts, including bank statements and sub-ledgers, to ensure accuracy, Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring proper accounting for all transactions, assisting with internal and external audits and tax filings, contributing to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Cash and Treasury: Overseeing cash and liquidity management through cash flow planning and forecasting, reviewing funding needs, monthly reporting of all treasury activities to senior management, analyze and perform appropriate hedging and funding activities (forex, loans, deposits, etc.), managing banking relationships, managing treasury operations and controls (cash pooling, forex hedging, etc), DNB supply chain financing / weekly purchase requests
- Tax: Ensure that company complies with local and federal laws, coordinate with the tax managers on matters related to tax audits, provide assistance to various internal and financial audits, provide support on corporate tax return working papers, monthly and Quarterly tax reporting - PST, QST, Non-resident Tax, annual tax reporting
- Intercompany account reconciliation, intercompany balance settlement
- Insurance: Insurance renewals, claims reporting, Vehicle insurance renewals, payments
Skills and Expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- 7-8+ Yrs of experience in accounting, preferably in corporate setting (IFRS-International Financial Reporting Standards)
- Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and financial analysis tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for financial analysis and troubleshooting
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, is needed for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders
