Trouw Nutrition’s Companion Animal business is focused on advancing nourishment of the world’s pets by providing premium pet food companies with the highest-quality custom ingredient blends supported by exceptional customer care and nutrition expertise. We are seeking a Quality and Food Safety Supervisor, Neosho, Mo, US to lead two team members in the successful oversight of Production, Food defense/Safety and Quality programs.

About The Role: Driving Quality and Food Safety Excellence:

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach and mentor the Neosho Quality team
  • Provide direction, establish goals, objectives and manage performance reviews
  • Establish an atmosphere that encourages Process Improvement, Audit Inspection Readiness and Quality Risk Management
  • Oversee the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Neosho facilities and Quality Systems (including compliance of SQF, HACCP, Food Safety and Food Defense programs)
  • Perform Food Safety and Quality audits; lead monthly GMP and host all internal / external audits (Regulatory/Customer)
  • Provide product disposition (raw material/finished product); analyze trends; perform tests, as needed
  • Remain current on new/existing business and industry certifications
  • Train employees on Quality, Food Safety, Food Defense, SQF, HACCP; Federal and State agencies requirements and additional onsite programs
  • Responsible for reviewing, writing, maintaining and training staff on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Annual reporting responsibilities:  Internal/External Raw material, Compliance, Stability, Investigation Deviation and Finished Good reports and releases
  • Track the progress and data points of key Quality Performance Indicators

Skills and Expertise:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Animal Science, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 5+years of relevant manufacturing experience in quality assurance, food/feed or a related field
  • 5-8 years of quality assurance experience (Pet Food experience preferred)
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food and feed safety regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national Quality Regulations and Industry Standards, including and evolving trends and updates
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and certification schemes (HACCP, FSMA, GFSI)
  • Less than 10% travel to our corporate office-Highland, IL
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with internal stakeholder
  • Experienced user of Smartsheet and MS suite: Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Preferred software familiarity: 1QM (Quality Management), M3 or Millmaster, Graphical Lot Tracker (GLT), PowerBI software, CRM Dashboard, LIMs Dashboard
  • NIR Knowledge
