In 2025, we united under the theme “Fit for Work”- a powerful reminder that safety begins with our own well-being. Between September 29 to October 3, Nutreco sites worldwide hosted a mix of global and local activities to celebrate, inspire, educate, and connect - all in the spirit of building a safer, healthier workplace.
During the week, stories were shared that truly embodied what the event was all about. Zak Harris, a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Ashbourne site, shared his experience of surviving a devastating road traffic collision. His story was one of resilience, reflection, and the importance of taking a moment to prioritise safety.

The video also featured Steven Ayres, a firefighter and loading operative at Trouw Nutrition GB, who was first on the scene. Their bond and professionalism in the face of crisis served as a powerful reminder of the strength, care, and humanity within our Nutreco community. This story reminded us all that safety is not just a rule, but a shared responsibility, one that begins with looking out for each other.
A heartfelt thank you to Zak for his courage and openness in sharing such a personal journey. His message resonated across our sites and teams, inspiring us to pause, reflect, and protect what matters most.
