Job Description

Why join us

Get ready to play a critical role in driving operational excellence as a Senior Planner at Trouw Nutrition GB, part of the SHV family of companies. Guided by our purpose of Feeding the Future, we work every day to deliver sustainable, safe, and high-quality nutrition solutions worldwide.

In this role, you will play a key role within our manufacturing operations in Belfast, ensuring stability, efficiency, and continuity across complex production and material flows. This is a highly visible and impactful position, offering ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a critical site

What you’ll do

As a Senior Planner, you will own end-to-end production and material planning across multiple manufacturing lines, ensuring smooth coordination of materials, production schedules, and inbound logistics to meet customer demand while minimising operational risk.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to deliver high service levels and efficient factory utilisation

  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging, proactively managing shortages and supply risks

  • Manage material planning and production scheduling to ensure stable operations and reliable delivery

  • Optimise production sequencing to minimise downtime, changeovers, and bottlenecks

  • Coordinate daily with production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to align priorities and constraints

  • Monitor demand trends and adjust plans to ensure service continuity

  • Identify and mitigate risks across supply, production, and logistics

  • Manage planning activities in ERP systems (M3 preferred), ensuring data accuracy and effective planning parameters

  • Act as a senior planning expert, mentoring junior planners and driving standardisation of planning processes

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and overall operational stability

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a senior, hands-on planning professional who is comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and who brings strong technical expertise in production and material planning.

You’ll also need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production and material planning within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong hands-on experience with production scheduling and material planning (mandatory)

  • Solid understanding of production processes and inbound/outbound logistics

  • High proficiency in ERP systems (M3 preferred) and Excel (mandatory)

  • Experience with Power BI is an advantage

  • Ability to work autonomously with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally

  • A senior mindset with the ability to support and guide less experienced planners

Location & Practicalities

  • Location: Belfast

  • Work model: 100% on-site

  • Employment type: Full-time, permanent

  • Travel: Not required, except for very occasional ad hoc needs

What you’ll receive

As part of Trouw Nutrition, you’ll be a member of the wider SHV family, a global group of companies known for long-term vision, stability, and investment in people.

In addition, you’ll receive:

  • Pension scheme

  • 25 days of holiday per calendar year based on full-time working hours, plus 8 UK bank holidays.

  • A stable, site-based role with strong operational ownership

  • Opportunities to grow within a global organisation
