What you’ll do

Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment at our Mill by performing general maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, and repairs. This position supports uninterrupted production operations by proactively identifying and resolving issues.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to reduce downtime, complete accurate computer-based entries, including Team PM tasks and work order submissions

  • Conduct basic electrical and boiler maintenance

  • Fabricate and install new equipment or systems as required

  • Enforce safety procedures to minimize injury risk and reduce recordable incidents

  • Schedule and coordinate downtime with production for maintenance and repairs

  • Maintain inventory and order parts to ensure availability of spares

  • Fill out all corresponding permits required for each task without fail (e.g., hot work, confined space, lockout/tagout)

  • Ensure all major expenditures are communicated to and approved by the Plant Manager before proceeding

  • May assist with production tasks only when all maintenance responsibilities are complete and with approval from the Plant Manager

  • Unionized position under the Canada - Grain and General Services Union (GSU) agreement

Who we’re looking for

  • Millwright ticket or actively working toward certification (asset)

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and computerized work order platforms (e.g., Team PM)

  • Ability and availability to work rotational shifts and overtime as required

  • Ability to work in shifts

You’ll also need

  • Ability to regularly bend, twist, climb ladders, open/close lids and stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 kg (55 lbs) regularly

  • Millwright ticket or actively working toward certification (asset)

  • Ability to focus on details within a fast-paced environment

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule Rotating shifts may be required, including occasional weekends or extended hours based on operational needs
