Sales Support Manager

Job Description

Why join us

At Nutreco, our purpose is Feeding the Future through sustainable and innovative practices. As part of the SHV family, Nutreco operates globally through its two business lines, Trouw Nutrition and Skretting, helping customers produce food responsibly and sustainably.

We are looking for a Sales Support Manager to join our Trouw Nutrition Ireland team in Belfast. This is a commercially focused, primarily office-based role managing long-tail customers and supporting the wider Account Management team with the sale of our traded product range.

You will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, developing opportunities remotely and helping ensure smaller customers receive responsive, high-quality commercial and technical support. This will allow Account Managers to focus on strategic customers and core Trouw Nutrition and Selko product portfolios.

What you’ll do

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of customers, building strong relationships, identifying opportunities and helping drive growth across the traded product range. Most customer interaction will take place remotely, but you will also make occasional customer visits where they add real value.

In practice, you will:

  • Manage and develop long-tail customer accounts across Ireland, providing responsive commercial support and building trusted customer relationships.

  • Promote and sell a broad traded product portfolio, including feed supplements and products supplied to feed mills

  • Support Account Managers by managing customers’ requirements and helping progress relevant commercial opportunities

  • Engage with customers primarily by phone, email and online channels, using occasional field visits to strengthen relationships or move opportunities forward

  • Identify, qualify and convert sales opportunities, contributing to revenue growth, customer retention and product uptake.

  • Prepare, present and follow up on sales proposals, account plans and agreed customer actions.

  • Work closely with colleagues across Sales, Supply Chain and the wider ECA organisation to deliver a consistent customer experience.

  • Maintain accurate customer records and use internal systems to track activity, opportunities and performance

  • Support product launches, customer communications, seminars and training activities when required

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a customer-focused, commercially driven professional who enjoys building strong relationships and spotting opportunities to grow the business. You will be confident engaging with customers, particularly over the phone, and able to combine responsive support with a proactive sales mindset.

This could be an aspiring Account Manager, a customer service professional ready to take the next step into a commercial role, or someone with relevant sales experience in animal nutrition, feed or agriculture.

You’ll also need:

  • Experience in customer service, B2B sales, account management or another commercially focused customer-facing role

  • A working understanding of animal nutrition, feed products, feed mills or the wider agricultural market

  • Strong communication skills, especially confidence engaging customers by phone and building relationships remotely

  • Commercial drive, curiosity and the ability to identify and progress customer opportunities

  • Good organisation, follow-up and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer needs at the same time.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with Account Managers, supply chain colleagues and wider international teams

  • A practical understanding of market needs and the ability to explain products and commercial solutions clearly

  • Comfort using CRM, sales reporting or customer data systems, or willingness to learn these tools quickly

  • Willingness to make occasional customer visits across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

A degree in Animal Nutrition or Agricultural Science would be an advantage, but we also welcome candidates who bring relevant commercial experience and a good understanding of the agricultural or animal nutrition market.

We are open to a range of backgrounds, provided you are a confident communicator, commercially curious and motivated to build your knowledge of animal nutrition while developing strong customer relationships.

Location & Details

  • Location: Belfast, with customer coverage across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

  • Work model: Primarily office-based, with occasional customer visits

  • Contract: 35 hours per week, permanent, full-time

What you’ll receive

  • Training and development opportunities within Trouw Nutrition and the wider SHV group

  • Exposure to a broad customer portfolio and a varied commercial role within the animal nutrition industry

  • The opportunity to build a long-term career in technical-commercial sales and account management
