What you'll do
Reporting to the BU/OPCO Quality Manager, you will lead the Quality, Regulatory and Quality Control teams and ensure the effective implementation of Nutrace, Nutreco's Quality Management System. Your responsibilities will include:
Quality Management & Nutrace
Implementing and maintaining Nutrace and global quality standards within the OpCo.
Ensuring compliance with applicable certification schemes, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
Acting as a key user for quality-related IT systems and supporting the implementation of global quality processes.
Supporting testing, implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems.
Driving quality awareness initiatives and promoting a strong quality culture across the business.
Quality Assurance & Feed Safety
Establishing and maintaining the OpCo Quality Management System.
Conducting internal audits and process confirmations to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
Monitoring quality performance, complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
Leading investigations and supporting the resolution of quality incidents and customer complaints.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on feed safety, product quality, and operational excellence.
Supplier & Risk Management
Conducting ingredient and supplier approval assessments.
Supporting supplier qualification and audit programmes.
Performing audits at suppliers, contract manufacturers, and warehouses where required.
Monitoring risks and ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
Quality Control
Supporting operations with in-process quality controls and compliance requirements.
Analysing quality and laboratory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Driving corrective and preventative actions to improve quality performance.
Regulatory Affairs
Ensuring compliance with applicable feed and food safety legislation.
Monitoring regulatory developments and supporting the implementation of legislative changes.
Supporting product registrations and regulatory compliance activities.
Leadership & Collaboration
·Lead, coach and develop the Quality, Regulatory and Laboratory teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
·Build capability within the team through training, mentoring and succession planning.
·Build strong relationships with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Formulation, Customer Service and Commercial stakeholders.
·Support best-practice sharing and quality improvements across the organisation.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is accountable, quality-focused and ready to Own It. You are a strong leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment, has a passion for quality and feed safety, and can effectively balance compliance, operational excellence and team development.
You will bring:
A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
8+ years' experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, including at least 3 years in a people leadership role.
Experience managing Quality teams within a feed, food, FMCG, animal nutrition or related manufacturing environment.
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
Strong knowledge of feed and food safety regulations.
Knowledge of HACCP, ISO and GFSI-recognised standards.
Experience with Quality Management Systems, certification schemes and audit processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to positively influence organisational quality culture.
