Job Description

Get ready to Own your expertise as a Regulatory Innovations Specialist at Nutreco. As a global leader in animal nutrition and aquafeed, our purpose of Feeding the Future is making a positive impact for generations to come.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of science, regulation and innovation. You will support international innovation teams in bringing safe, compliant and sustainable products to market. From conducting hands-on toxicological safety assessments to defining regulatory strategies and preparing registration dossiers, your expertise will help turn promising ideas into successful innovations.

You will join the Regulatory Innovations team, where colleagues with different regulatory and toxicological specialisms work closely together.

What you’ll do

  • Hands-on toxicological safety assessments of substances, ingredients and innovative concepts.

  • Regulatory guidance for innovation projects and new product development.

  • Clear scientific recommendations and regulatory go/no-go decisions.

  • Coordination of regulatory data generation and product registration dossiers.

  • Support product registrations and market access activities worldwide.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Marketing and external partners.

  • Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing business impact.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for an experienced toxicology professional who can independently assess substances and translate scientific evidence into sound regulatory decisions. You are comfortable working with incomplete or complex data and know how to balance innovation opportunities with responsibility for product safety and compliance.

You’ll also need:

  • Master's degree in Toxicology or a related Life Sciences discipline.

  • Practical experience in applied toxicology and substance assessment.

  • Several years of relevant experience gained in an industry or consultancy setting.

  • Experience with regulatory assessments, product authorization or market approval processes.

  • Strong project management, stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to translate complex scientific findings into practical business recommendations.

  • Strategic thinking combined with a commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Fluent English communication skills.

  • Availability to work from our Amersfoort office at least two days per week.

What you’ll receive

You will become part of a collaborative international team that works closely with innovation units across Nutreco. The team combines regulatory and toxicological expertise and offers an environment in which colleagues share knowledge, challenge ideas and work together to bring meaningful innovations to market.

This role gives you the opportunity to strengthen your broader regulatory expertise while taking ownership of the toxicology discipline. You will contribute to international projects, build relationships with stakeholders across the business and help shape the regulatory direction of future products and concepts.

In addition, we offer:

  • A challenging international position with global exposure.

  • A collaborative and inclusive working environment.

  • Opportunities for professional learning and development.

  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements.

  • Long-term career opportunities within Nutreco and the wider SHV group.

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
