Expanding our capacity
As the world leader in animal nutrition and aquafeed, we produce over 9.5 million tons of feed and feed additives per year in more than 100 plants in 40 different countries. And every year, we acquire or build about 1-4 plants to expand our production capacity and business development even more. This means we offer great opportunities for specialists in safety, quality, maintenance, process engineering, production, supply chain & logistics, customer service, project management for capital expenditure, and general operations management.
The biggest challenge in the near future is aligning all our different production facilities. By standardizing operating procedures and making our production lines even more efficient, we can fully benefit from our economies of scale and create operational excellence around the globe. Meanwhile, we have to ensure our plants comply with increasing safety, quality, and customers standards. So if you’re up for a very dynamic work environment, if you want to make an impact and to grow further with us, we welcome you on this exciting journey.
Lots of challenging work
In the field of operations at Nutreco, you can find challenges at various departments, such as:
- Production: Our production teams are responsible for operating processes & packaging machines, taking care of various logistics operations, and all day-to-day people and management decisions to serve our customers. Our dream Nutreco plant is a high-end digital factory; this means much more skilled jobs in automated and digital plants in the near future.
- Maintenance: Our control and maintenance work are in the mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & automation fields. As a maintenance technician, you are responsible for independently solving malfunctions, making improvements, and investigating structural, technical challenges to increase the equipment's safety, quality, and performance.
- Supply chain & logistics: Delivering animal nutrition and aquafeed to customers worldwide, we need to manage a very complex transportation and logistics system. And as this represents a substantial component of our environmental impact, we must work as innovative and sustainable as possible.
- Integrated Business Planning: Every effective supply plan starts with a strong customer forecast. By forecasting more accurately, we’ll be better able to source our raw materials under the best timing and conditions, define the optimal formulations for our customers, and create the best possible match between supply and demand. This is what Integrated Business Planning is all about, one of our End-2-End processes which is continuously evolving.
